Wealth is a reflection of belief just as fashion is a reflection of thoughts. Gifford believe one can’t own more wealth than his mind do, just like one can’t fill 1L water into a 300ml cup.
Do you have your own philosophy in your wealth? Your life?
Line of Least Resistance
After this 14 years of service, Gifford discovered that many people are taking unnecessary risk to manage their finance. This sometimes directly or indirectly lead to disasters.
As Charlie Munger said, the investment of Buffet and him is always gone through the line of least resistance. He asked, if the same racing lane has two hurdle, one is higher and one is lower, why should someone cross the higher one in a competition?
If a simple and stable strategy works well, why bother to take a volatile one?
To be true successful in life, Gifford understands the importance of balance.
“What success means? To me, it is the abundance in health, wealth and soul, in a balance and harmonic way”
And this is why he is keep on learning and sharing in different areas including business, health, relationship and personal growth.
Margin of Safety
As Buffett do in investment, Gifford also applies the concept of Margin of Safety into his daily life and business.
The problem of the high net worth families, is not how to aim a higher growth of the asset, but rather how to preserve and protect the asset they have. For high income earners, it’s how to preserve and then enhance the income generating ability.
Success need patience, isn’t it?
